THROUGH EYES OF OUR CUSTOMER

Mr. Ashok Joshi,

Associated with Shivam Pavers & Concretes, Assam

Shivam Pavers and Concretes bought 1st Concrete Block Machine from Columbia only in the year 2019 and second machine this year in March 2022. We have been manufacturing high-strength pavers for the past 3 years. Rubber molded pavers are popular for light-duty applications.

We aim to replace rubber moulded products in the market with coloured and value added products on Columbia Machine because rubber molds can never match the cost of production on a concrete block machine as well as the strength and longevity which Columbia provides. Our company has always invested time and energy in research and development. Initially coloured and shiny finish products were the first choice of the consumers, however, they are now slowly shifting to the matte look like in European countries. We wish to drive the marketing and would like to go against the flow rather than going with the tide.

The last two years were a slack period for most of the business and industry however thanks to Columbia Machine, we grew manifold and made 40% higher sales during this Covid period. We always guided our team to think beyond the circumstances and not to restrict themselves because of the same. Taking chances and making the utmost out of situations has been our philosophy always.

Always buy the original and never just make decisions on the price of the product. We have always bought 100% spares and molds from Columbia in the past, though it is priced a bit higher than the market, however, we feel it is a win-win situation for both of us, because we are also earning a premium from the products manufactured from this machine. We would rather shift our focus into marketing and grow our business. We are aggressive today because we can lay all bets on Columbia products. The best part is the uniformity of products manufactured on Columbia Machines, which is unmatched by any other brand manufacturer. We are standing tall because We have Columbia Machine behind me.

Columbia helps to transform Construction Demolition Waste into Concrete Blocks

Mr. Saxena from Rise Eleven, enjoys a rich experience of 22 years in the field of establishing and running Ready Mix Concrete business for highly professional organizations. Right from the initial stage of this Industry, he was eager to do something different and of more significance for the civilization and for himself. In 2016, they incorporated this group named 'Rise Eleven' with an aim to work in the field of Ready Mix Concrete; Construction & Demolition (C&D) Waste management; Infrastructure Projects and Solid Waste Management. They have already bagged three C&D Waste Projects at Delhi, Agra and Greater Noida. C&D Waste management being a new field, is very challenging but enthralling to the group.

Apart from Ready Mix Concrete of all grades and a few special concrete, they have C&D Waste Recycled Aggregates and Recycled Concrete Aggregates of various sizes. They are also manufacturing various precast concrete products like Interlocking Pavers, Concrete Blocks (Solid & Hollow), Concrete Bricks and Kerb Stones etc. using recycled aggregates.

Mr. Saxena has observed the following major change in Construction Industry:

Awareness about Recycling the waste and its Reuse is increasing day by day, which will help enormously in long run saving the environment as well as conserving natural resources. With this new development, they have decided to go for the production of Concrete Blocks as forward integration to the existing CD waste plant. Mr. Saxena and his partner visited nine Columbia plants in Mumbai and suburbs owned by the leading producers of India and witnessed the production of solid blocks, hollow blocks, high-strength pavers, retaining wall blocks and value-added paver products. These visits and valuable feedback of existing customers made them decide in the favour of Columbia at a premium price compared to that of the competition.

Rise Eleven purchased Columbia Machine in 2020, immediately after lockdown and enjoy an enriching experience as all promises were fulfilled and with active after-sales support. They are producing solid/ hollow blocks, paver blocks with recycled CD waste at their plant located in Delhi.

Mx. Saxena explains how Quality and service was the main force behind their decision to go for Columbia even at a higher initial price. Positive feedback from the existing customers of Columbia having used the machine since more than a decade was very encouraging.

Columbia with its unparalleled experience in raw materials and mix design contributed to the success of Rise Eleven in producing premium concrete products from CD waste products.

Service Tips

It is recommended when removing the front feed drawer to use the lifting swing arm assembly. When removing or installing the front feed drawer using the chains level the feed drawer to minimize installation to the front of the machine. Once you have adjusted the chains for the best pick mark the chain so that you can use the same picking points the next time you need to remove the front feed drawer.
