The final output from a paver block mold depends on a variety of factors beginning right from choosing the right design and supplier to proper storage and maintenance of the Mold.

A) Choosing the right Make and Model of Mold:

  • Pedigree of the Mold manufacturer... Check the experience of the manufacturer and their knowledge of the Concrete Product Industry.
  • Service set up of the Mold manufacturer.
  • Design and customization capabilities of the Mold manufacturer.
  • One must continuously monitor the industry trends, related demand, and needs of the market while choosing the model of the mold. The most running model should be selected.
  • The type of raw materials used should also be considered during the selection of the molds. The raw materials used and the hardness of the Mold’s structure should be proportion matched.
  • Never use Admixer for paver block manufacturing.

B) Concerns during Installation of the Mold:

  • In case of improper installation of Mold there could be chances of any kind of damage to the existing Mold and also could result in deformed products while production.
  • The Mold settings and balance may be disturbed in case of a wrong installation process. Therefore, the products may be damaged or the Mold may become completely unusable.

C) Care during Mold installation

  • Strictly follow the installation process recommended by the mold manufacturer.
  • One must ensure that the joints of the Mold are carefully connected.
  • Also, check the tightening of screws.
  • Change the mold once the life cycle and production quantity are achieved. During the replacement process, the Mold must be removed and the installation of the new Mold must be done correctly.

D) Production Cycle

  • During daily production, the operator must be constantly checking the molds against the possibility of the screws getting loose so that functioning is proper.
  • Use the recommended size and mix of raw material aggregates.
  • It is irrefutable fact that the use of incomplete or excessive raw materials will both cause damage to the Mold and result in inaccurate production.

E) Choosing the right Pallet is also an important aspect of optimum mold life

F) Operator Knowledge & experience

  • One of the most important factors in machine & Mold usage is the knowledge and experience of the operators.
  • If the operator does not have enough knowledge and experience, both the machine and the molds will not be well managed and this will lead to production errors and losses in business.

G) Cleaning and maintenance of the molds

  • Check & Clean Mold daily at the closing of the shift to avoid the accumulation of solidified concrete on the mold surface.
  • Ensure scrapping brush/ rubber height before the start of the operation to ensure the proper shoe cleaning during each Cycle.
  • Maintain Product’s Steel pallet in good condition daily to avoid premature deterioration of Surface.
  • Use the recommended aggregate for a better life for the mold. Check the surface wear and regular interval and replace the cavity once it is worn out.
  • Carefully monitor and adjust critical mold gap to have friction-free movement of mold temper head shoes and mold cavity, mold frame, and wire plate spacing, etc to avoid bending of the concrete block.
  • Store Molds at a shaded dry place, duly Oiled, preferably on shelves. Do not stack mold one upon another.
